First things first… In case you weren’t aware, Fear of Girls episode 3 should be releasing very soon. They put out Teaser #4 on youtube about 10 days ago. After watching it, I was fully convinced that evil had best start a runnin!
DragonCon 2008 is done and over. Dust has settled and everyone has made it back home. Everyone’s had time to sleep, dryclean their costumes, and brag about their swag. More importantly, they’ve had time to post their videos and photos.
As I previously mentioned, I was unable to attend the formal debutante ball that was ConVixen’s premiere.
I’ve put together a collection of pictures and video for all the fans of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Underpants (aka Convention Vixens).
At GenCon I acquired a business card and a flier for what I’ve now dubbed The Sisterhood of Traveling Underpants.
The calling card looks interesting, but contains no information other than a web address. As of today, the web site is down (supposedly due to traffic loads after GenCon advertising). Google as a little bit cached but not much. The WayBackMachine has nothing. Nor did Yahoo’s cache crap.
Anyways, they are a troup of traveling cosplay hotties who will be touring the cons. According to their MySpace info, they will have 20 girls next year which means they can finally add a cheerleader chick. There mission is to be super sexy yet humble hotties out to bring the joys of cosplay to the world. Hopefully the ConVixens stay the course on their mission because I can’t make it to DragonCon this year but wouldn’t mind seeing them at any of the cons on my ‘09 schedule.
I almost forgot… The flier I got was a black and white version of this: [more...]
The Gen Con expo area has a section set up for artists that has a little something for everyone. There are books, paintings, drawings, digital art, and probably more things that I forgot.
One nice thing about Artists Alley is that a good number of the artists show up in costume. For example…
Just don’t ask me what she was selling at her booth because I seriously couldn’t tell you.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why some of the Gen Con attendees purchased multiple one day passes instead of the heavily discounted 4 Day badges. The only benefit would be that you could get your Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday badges each stamped and get a few extra swag bags. But why?
The bags weren’t all that amazing compared to what I’ve seen in previous years. They had a couple of dice (one which is rather hard to read so it’s mostly useless), a MapleStory booster (card game), a Blue Dragon card game and play mat, a Kingdom of Loathing online “Free Stuff” code (redeems in game for some equipment), a Legends of Norrath online redemption code (1 starter, 1 booster = $12.98 value), post-it notes, and other random paper stuffs.
The cost of buying each badge would run you about $130, as opposed to early registering for a 4 day badge for $65.
Oh, and speaking of mul-ti-passes… There was a costume contest entrant dressed as Leeloo Minai Lekarariba-Laminai-Tchai Ekbat De Sebat from Fifth Element. It was of course the outfit that looks to be made of straps, not the sweat pants and suspenders (which is still hot).
You know how it is. We bumped into each other, sparks happen… (and flashes from cameras) [more...]
